the rules
Firstly, I'd like to say a warm welcome to Monster, and I really do hope you enjoy your stay. So, rules. Yes, we all hate them, and we all need them, sadly. I'd like to point out that I may edit, add to, or in any other way alter this list of rules as I see fit. Now that the little disclaimer is done, we can get down to the nitty gritty rules.

001. In terms of OOC, there's one major rule; respect. We all know what it is, no? No!? You don't? Well, Wikipedia is a very helpful tool. "Respect denotes both a positive feeling of esteem for another person and/or entity (e.i. religion, country, team, etc.), and also specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem." Congratulations, Wikipedia; you did something right! Anyway, in essentials, this means "be nice or be dead." That's the short version. You don't want the long version.
By the way, this means respect to EVERYONE. Staff, members, guests, random fluffy turtles, you name it!
002. On the subject of images, we already know that pornography is a big, fat, red no-no. But aside from that, there are a lot of other types of images that are banned here. Namely, offensive images (e.i violent death, killing, etc.), personally insulting images (yes, I'm talking to you, Mr. Homophobe), or the like. Due to the possibility of an ugly-looking board (*shudder*), there is also an image size limit. Signatures may be no larger than five-hundred pixels wide, and four-hundred pixels high. Avatars are to be within one-hundred pixels wide, and two-hundred pixels high. There are no exceptions. Also, please center the things in your signature. It's just common sense.
003. When a person makes a post, it is considered courteous to try and match that post, yes? Well, that's where I'm going. As of now, there is no word count. It is preferred, however, that you take into consideration that we are an intermediate site, so please try to keep your posts to at least three paragraphs each. And for those of you who are still under the impression that a paragraph is three sentences, I will be the one to blow your mind; *clears throat* it's not. A full paragraph consists of five to ten sentences, and is roughly one-hundred words each. So there. Mind = blown.
004. In the chat box, there are a few simple courtesies I would like to make sure you follow through with. Firstly, be nice to new members. It's common knowledge that scaring your new friends away is the quickest way to have them hightailing to that irritating group of popular people who always seem to be laughing, though no joke has been made. Second, do not fight. Either live and let live, or take your debate to PM. If someone needs help, help them. It feels good, and it makes you allies.
005. Y'know those words your parents said you shouldn't say when you were a kid? Remember? The ones that began with 'f,' or 's,' or even 'a?' Well, you can say those...in character! Keep your swearing out of the OOC boards. As of now, there is no censorship, but I will enforce one if this becomes a problem. Let me clarify; you can swear OOC, but not too often. I don't want this to turn into an f-bomb war ground.
006. Bonjour, mi amici! I'm not entirely sure what that means. It either means "Hello, my friends!" or "Hello, little bitches!" I dunno. But to the rule! All characters must be able to speak English. I don't care if it's Southern-accent English, or choppy other-country English. It. Must. Be. In. Their. Vocabulary. It wouldn't be nice to have other people thinking "Uh...wha--?" whenever your charrie speaks. So there.
